Earlier this year, Mercedes-AMG announced the beginning of the new and highly exclusive Mythos series. However, it can be confirmed that the Maybach SL will not be part of the Mythos brand, as the original teaser image for the Mythos series highlighted a sleek overall design aimed at speed, with a significant bulge behind the cockpit. From these spy photos, we can see that Maybach will choose the standard SL body instead.
This does not mean that the Maybach SL will not look luxurious, and despite the camouflage, we can see that this car will get traditional Maybach design touches. This will include complex multi-spoke wheels, a larger grille, and more refined exhaust tips. The front bumper and side sills are expected to be reshaped, along with a prominent Maybach logo on the hood.
There is no visible charging port at the rear of this prototype, so the Maybach SL is not expected to come with the hybrid system from the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 E Performance. Instead, it should feature a 4.0-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers producing 577 horsepower. The price for the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 in the Ultimate class starts at £179,605.
The interior is expected to have the same 12.3-inch digital driver display and an 11.9-inch adjustable infotainment screen in the center console as the regular SL. However, the Maybach SL is expected to offer a more distinctive interior design, thanks to a wider range of customization options, including various materials and finishes.
