LUCID and Ceer Share Insights at Riyadh Electric Vehicle Exhibition

At the Riyadh Electric Vehicle Exhibition, Ali Radwi, the commercial operations manager of LUCID Middle East, revealed that with the support of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, LUCID is enhancing its production capabilities in Saudi Arabia. The American electric vehicle manufacturer plans to export a significant portion of its vehicles produced in Saudi Arabia to regional and global markets.

This initiative supports Saudi Arabia's goal of converting 30% of vehicles to electric by 2030. This target is part of a larger strategy to reduce emissions in the capital by 50%, contributing to the country's broader aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Radwi stated, “We are producing vehicles in Saudi Arabia, and a large part of them will be exported within the region and to the rest of the world.”

In the same seminar, Mohammed Abu Azza, the public relations chief of the Saudi electric vehicle brand Ceer, discussed the company's strategy. He said, “We have a business portfolio suitable for the Saudi market, which is innovative and inspiring and can respond to what the people of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council expect.” He emphasized the importance of communicating with customers and expanding the company's sales network in Saudi Arabia and GCC countries.

Ulf Schulte, the chief operations officer of an electric vehicle infrastructure company, announced plans to expand the company's charging network. He said, “Thus, there are many building blocks we are working on, and we are now increasing the number of sites. Our first site in Jeddah will start operating today or tomorrow.” He added, “Our focus this year is on Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, but we are working on building a nationwide network to enable an ecosystem for electric vehicles to cover long distances.”

Andreas Floro, head of the mobility group at Red Sea Global, outlined the company’s commitment to sustainability. He said, “We are opening new hotels every quarter currently, and mobility is one of the foundations of our sustainability and environmental protection goals.” He added, “We plan to open a new hotel by the end of next year. This means hundreds of additional vehicles, guest vehicles, employee transport, and buses. We need to increase charging stations for electric vehicles within our destinations.”

Gary Flom, CEO of National Transport Solutions, emphasized the role of electric vehicles in transforming Saudi Arabia's infrastructure. He said, “Today, we are witnessing a revolution towards a future where electric vehicles are not just an option, but a cornerstone of our country's transport infrastructure.”

The rise of the electric vehicle sector in Saudi Arabia reflects a broader shift towards sustainability, innovation, and resilience. He added that National Transport Solutions takes pride in being a key player in the ongoing transformation, which began three years ago. The company has a clear and ambitious mission to provide Saudi fleet operators with the same tools, data, and operational efficiencies that their counterparts in the United States and Europe enjoy, or even better.

This three-day event, held from September 17 to 19 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, highlights Saudi Arabia's commitment to electric vehicles and sustainable technology, aligning with Vision 2030. The exhibition is a major event for the growing electric vehicle ecosystem in the Kingdom, bringing together manufacturers, charging solution providers, policymakers, and consumers to discuss the future of mobility in the region.
