Kia is actively developing a series of intriguing electric vehicles, with the upcoming Kia EV4 being one of the most enticing new products. The new model will be offered in both hatchback and sedan forms, competing with electric vehicles like MG4 in the hatchback segment, and BYD Han and Tesla Model 3 in the sedan segment.

Kia first unveiled the EV4 concept car to the world last October, initially presented as a sedan, with expectations that it would be the sole body style offered. However, in early August, photographers captured a heavily camouflaged hatchback version of the EV4 during testing. This version was spotted again, this time at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany.

There is no denying that the car's design is bold and will complement the smaller EV3 alongside the larger EV5, EV6, and EV9 models. Its front end will feature distinctive headlights with LED DRLs. Some camouflage has been removed from the sides of the car, revealing flat door handles and angled side windows. It will also rely on black and silver wheels in the production version, similar to the prototype.

Kia engineers have worked hard to conceal the rear design of the prototype, but the production model will undoubtedly feature LED taillights similar to those found on the sedan EV4, modified to better fit the hatchback shape.

The new model will be based on the familiar E-GMP platform used by many Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis electric vehicles. Like the EV3, the EV4 may be sold with battery packs of 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh, with the base model's maximum output capped at 201 horsepower, while stronger dual-motor versions will be at the top of the range. A performance-focused GT variant is also expected.
