The Infiniti Q50 was introduced in 2013 at the North American International Auto Show. As of now, this model remains the only offering from Infiniti during this period, following the discontinuation of the Q70 in 2019 and the Q60 Coupe in 2022. However, over the years, this model seems to be at risk of exclusion as it has been neglected for some time. The 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine was discontinued five years ago, and the design of the car has remained unchanged for nearly a decade.
All that the car received were minor updates, and it is difficult to distinguish between the 2014 and 2024 models. It is not surprising that sales of this model have significantly declined, reaching only 6201 units in the United States during 2023, which represents a 29.7% increase compared to 2022.
The Infiniti Q50 sold 25,987 units in 2019 and 34,763 units in 2018. Since then, the car's sales have continually declined, with its peak in the U.S. in 2016 at 44,700 vehicles. This decline continued into 2024, with first-quarter sales reaching 2839 units, an 11.1% decrease from the previous year.
The car starts at a price of $43,050, which is lower than its German competitors, and it comes with a 3-liter V6 twin-turbo engine producing up to 400 horsepower.
