Nissan recently unveiled the 2025 Patrol alongside its US twin, the all-new Armada. This has revitalized the large SUV market. Digital artist Theo Tal seized the opportunity to create an image of a full-size pickup that could theoretically replace the soon-to-be-discontinued Titan. The design cleverly retains design touches from the new Armada while extending the dimensions enough to mimic Titan's size. The artist lengthened the front and stretched both the wheelbase and the protruding rear, resulting in a double cab setup with a large cargo box in the back.
The PRO-4X version of the Armada 2025 served as the basis for this imagined pickup design. The front retains the same design as the new Armada, but the rear requires significant changes to transition from SUV to pickup. The designer opted for straighter rear lights and eliminated the full-width LED strip from the SUV, simplifying the shape of the rear bumper while adding a larger, more functional tailgate.
Mechanically, the pickup could rely on an extended version of the Armada's chassis, powered by the same 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. This gasoline unit produces 425 horsepower and 699 Newton-meters of peak torque.
Nissan confirmed that the Titan will cease production after the 2024 model year without any planned successor. This effectively indicates the end of Nissan's journey in the large pickup wars, leaving only the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Ram 1500, and Toyota Tundra in the competition.
