The Chinese version of the car boasts a longer wheelbase, providing more interior space, particularly for rear-seat passengers, which is an important requirement for consumers in China. Additionally, the car features an all-new front inspired by the 2025 1 Series, along with interior updates that include bolder LED taillights and redesigned doors.
Engines and Performance Figures
The new 2025 BMW 2 Series will be based on an updated version of the ULK chassis, which supports the 1 Series, X1, and X2 models. The car will be available in China with three gasoline engine options:
1.5L engine with 174 horsepower for the base model
2.0L engine with 228 horsepower for the mid-range model
2.0L engine with 335 horsepower in the top-tier M235L
BMW will manufacture the Chinese version of the new 2 Series Gran Coupe in collaboration with its local partner Brilliance, and the car is expected to be launched and available before the end of 2024, reflecting the company's commitment to meeting the needs of the growing Chinese market.
