BMW Motorrad celebrates its centenary with the recent launch of the new BMW R 1300 GS motorcycle in Saudi Arabia. The events took place at the Camel Square in Jeddah and the Riyadh Ring Circuit, marking an exceptional moment for BMW Motorrad, demonstrating its heritage and its ongoing commitment to setting new standards in the motorcycle world.
The unveiling of the BMW R 1300 GS positions it as the most powerful off-road motorcycle in its class, featuring a new boxer engine and a new suspension system, significantly lighter weight, and improved GS efficiency. This motorcycle sets new benchmarks for off-road riding.
The new R 1300 GS is equipped with the legendary dual-cylinder boxer engine, which has been meticulously redesigned to make it smaller in size and more powerful. The engine has a displacement of 1300cc, delivering 107 kW (145 hp) at 7750 rpm, along with a peak torque of 149 Nm at 6500 rpm, proving itself as the most powerful boxer engine produced in this series.
The R 1300 GS features a new Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) system that enhances riding comfort across various terrains. It also boasts adaptive vehicle height control and an optional sport suspension system. The motorcycle comes with four riding modes – Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro to handle diverse road conditions.
On the sidelines of the event, BMW also celebrated its centenary in the motorcycle production world. To commemorate a century of innovation, BMW Motorrad showcased its iconic models R 18 and R nineT, presented as 100-Year Editions.
