The Audi Q6 E-tron electric suv is now on sale and will be delivered to customers this quarter This model is Audi's third electric SUV, joining the smaller Q4 E-tron and the larger Q8 E-tron. The unveiling of the Q6 E-tron at Audi's headquarters represents an important step towards Audi's goal of transitioning to fully electric vehicles by 2033.

The Q6 E-tron is the first Audi model built on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric. This platform is shared with the fully electric Porsche Macan, which was unveiled in January. The launch of both the electric Macan and the Q6 E-tron was delayed due to software development issues.

Audi has stated that the vehicle is equipped with a lithium-ion battery comprising 12 units and 180 cells, with a total capacity of 100 kilowatts, allowing for a driving range of up to 625 kilometers. Upon launch, the Q6 E-tron will be available in a quattro version and a more powerful SQ6 E-tron, with prices starting at 74,700 euros or 81,200 dollars in Germany, approximately 10,000 euros less than the electric Macan.

Launch models will be introduced sequentially, depending on the market, starting with rear-wheel-drive versions that offer longer ranges and lower prices, likely beginning at under 70,000 euros.

The Q6 E-tron quattro accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the SQ6 E-tron takes 4.3 seconds. Audi stated that the top speeds for the vehicles are 210 km/h and 230 km/h, respectively. Both versions feature two motors.

Audi indicated that the new platform provides the Q6 E-tron with more interior space and storage capacity. The vehicle measures 4771 mm in length, 1993 mm in width, and 1648 mm in height, with a trunk capacity ranging from 526 to 1529 liters.

The dashboard features a series of screens: an 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment display that curves towards the driver. There is also a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger. Audi stated that the infotainment system is powered by the Android Automotive operating system.

Audi confirmed that the Q6 E-tron will be manufactured at the company's plant in Germany, making it the first electric vehicle produced there. The Q6 E-tron features 800-volt technology and a standard maximum charging power of 270 kilowatts. Audi plans to offer an RS version, the RS Q6 E-tron.
