The Audi E, a result of a collaborative effort between Audi and SAIC Motor, is currently undergoing rigorous road tests in China. This mid-size electric wagon, slated for a 2025 Chinese market launch, will feature a distinct brand identity, deviating from Audi's iconic four-ring logo to showcase advanced Chinese technology.
Equipped with a potent 775-horsepower four-wheel-drive system and a 100 kWh battery, the Audi E promises exhilarating performance with a range exceeding 700 kilometers.
In a strategic move to penetrate the lucrative Chinese market, Audi has partnered with SAIC to establish a new brand identity while retaining the esteemed "Audi" name. The brand's inaugural concept car, the Audi E, made its debut in November 2024 and has since undergone rigorous road testing within China.
Despite heavy camouflage during testing, the Audi E's distinctive front-end design, characterized by slender headlights and prominent air intakes flanking the front bumper, clearly distinguishes it from other Audi models, closely mirroring its concept car aesthetic. Notably, the car incorporates advanced driver-assistance systems, including LiDAR sensors and cameras that replace traditional exterior mirrors.
From the side profile, the Audi E exhibits a striking resemblance to the iconic RS6, showcasing a sporty wagon silhouette, eight-spoke wheels, discreetly integrated door handles, and a subtly sloping roofline that contributes to its dynamic visual appeal. A large rear spoiler, complemented by a diffuser at the bottom, further accentuates the car's sporty character. The Audi E boasts substantial dimensions, measuring 4,870 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a generous wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
The interior promises a luxurious and technologically advanced experience, featuring a large touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm 8295 chip for seamless user interaction. Additionally, the cabin is adorned with ambient lighting, extensive wood trim, and a leather-covered roof, creating an atmosphere of refined sophistication.
In terms of performance, the Audi E delivers exhilarating driving dynamics. Powered by a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system generating an impressive 570 kW (775 horsepower), the car is paired with a 100-kWh ternary lithium battery. Leveraging an 800V high-voltage platform, the Audi E achieves an exceptional range exceeding 700 kilometers and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.6 seconds. Furthermore, the car incorporates advanced handling technologies, including four-wheel steering and air suspension, ensuring both exceptional agility and unparalleled ride comfort.
