The Saudi Ministry of Commerce has announced that regulatory teams in the kingdom have successfully dismantled various fraud cases during new enforcement campaigns. The ministry revealed that the regulatory teams uncovered a warehouse in Malham that was dedicated to counterfeiting auto parts, where parts were fraudulently labeled, switching the origin from China to Germany or Japan.
More than 33,000 counterfeit parts were seized, and at the same time, the warehouse was closed. Additionally, the regulatory teams found a laser machine at the home of the violator, which was used for counterfeiting operations. The violators have been referred for severe penalties.
Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce had announced the success of regulatory teams in uncovering new fraud cases in the country. The seizure took place in the Eastern Province at an unlicensed warehouse that was dealing with expired tires. The ministry teams confiscated and destroyed over 2,000 tires, along with polishing equipment and compression tools used in the fraud. The warehouse was also closed with the assistance of relevant authorities, and violators were referred for legal action.
For years, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce has been conducting continuous campaigns to crack down on warehouses engaging in tire fraud using used and damaged tires for refurbishment. Among the cases previously reported, 25 warehouses were closed, and over 20,000 tires were confiscated, which were later used as a source of energy.
