Digital artist Theophilus Chin has released renderings of the next-generation Toyota Corolla. Inspired by modern designs such as the Toyota Crown Sport, the images show a bold and contemporary look for the iconic sedan. The all-new Corolla is reportedly set to debut in 2026 and will offer a range of internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

The exterior design of the new Corolla reflects a compact version of the Toyota Crown. It features Toyota's signature hammerhead front end, with sleek, elongated headlights and a wider air intake grille for a modern and dynamic appearance. The rear design is also inspired by the Crown, with wraparound tail lights and a uniquely sculpted tailgate.

Inside, the new Corolla is expected to borrow styling cues from the Camry, offering a refined and technologically advanced cabin. Key features include an all-digital instrument cluster, a large floating touchscreen and an advanced electronic gear selector. Toyota is also likely to equip the car with its latest Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), possibly as standard on all trims.

Under the bonnet, the next-generation Corolla is rumoured to be powered by Toyota's new 1.5-litre engine paired with an updated hybrid system. In naturally aspirated form, it’s said to produce around 128 hp (96 kW/130 PS), while the turbocharged version could deliver up to 178 hp (132 kW/180 PS). This combination promises improved fuel efficiency and performance.

The most exciting updates is the possible addition of PHEV models. These variants could feature two electric motors, offering increased efficiency and a boost in overall performance.

One of the unknowns about the next-generation Corolla is whether it will inherit Toyota’s rumored 2.0-liter four-cylinder powertrain. This engine, allegedly destined for the revived Celica, could produce up to 400 hp (298 kW/406 PS).
