We recently obtained spy shots of the all-new Toyota RAV4 undergoing testing in Michigan, USA. The next-generation model adopts Toyota’s latest design language, resembling the all-new Camry. Inside, a floating central display will be a key feature, and the vehicle’s dimensions are expected to grow slightly. A launch is anticipated in 2025.
Compared to the current model, the front end of the new RAV4 looks flatter and more streamlined, aligning with Toyota’s modern styling. The headlights sit closer to the hood, while the lower front grille features a seamless, borderless design that enhances its minimalist appeal.
The side profile showcases cleaner lines and a noticeably longer body. The rear hatch appears more upright, potentially increasing cargo space. The popular two-tone roof option will carry over, while elements like the wheel arches, side mirrors, and door handles are expected to remain similar to the current RAV4.
Through the windows, glimpses of the interior reveal a floating multimedia display, hinting at upgraded technology designed to enhance the driving experience.
Based on the spy shots, digital renderings of the new RAV4 suggest a bolder, more rugged look. However, we’ll have to wait for the official release to see how closely the final design matches these predictions.
Under the hood, the new RAV4 will continue offering gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options with minimal changes to the powertrain lineup. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants will still be available. The current model features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine producing 219 horsepower, while the plug-in hybrid version offers a more powerful 302-horsepower setup.
