The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is set to arrive in two luxurious variants, featuring Red Ambience and White Ambience options.
The most notable change is the transformation from a 2+2 layout to a sophisticated two-seat roadster with a softer suspension tune, enhancing the comfort of the ride.
The SL 680 is powered by a 577-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine sourced from the Mercedes AMG SL 63.
Both variants feature distinct color choices, with the Red Ambience showcasing a two-tone Obsidian Black Metallic and Manufaktur Garnet Red Metallic finish, while the White Ambience combines the same black with a Manufaktur Moonlight White Magno (matte) paint.
The black is only applied to the hood, providing a rich depth of color with a clear coat blended with red.
Compared to the standard Mercedes-Benz AMG SL, the Maybach version boasts significantly more chrome accents, including around the windshield, rocker panels, and the distinctive Maybach grille.
Additional exterior enhancements include an illuminated grille, a molded Maybach pattern in the lower air intake, an upright Mercedes star hood, rose gold trims on the headlights, and unique 21-inch wheels in either a five-hole Monoblock design or a multi-spoke design.
The black roof features a subtle anthracite Maybach pattern, while the taillights showcase a Maybach light signature, complemented by chrome accents and a unique diffuser at the rear.
Inside, the Monogram Series is adorned with Manufaktur Crystal White Exclusive nappa leather upholstery, extending to the door panels and center console, with black leather accents on the door tops featuring Maybach logos.
The standard comfort seats exhibit an exclusive geometric design inspired by the Maybach pattern from the lower front air intake, while matte chrome trim enhances the cabin's elegance.
The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch center touchscreen offer Maybach-specific start-up animations and themes.
The two-tone leather steering wheel is a signature Maybach element, accompanied by stainless-steel pedals and door sills.
To ensure a quieter and more comfortable experience, the car features a quieter exhaust system for the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine, alongside improved sound insulation in the wheel arches and doors.
Tires have also been upgraded from Michelin Pilot Sport 4S to Pirelli P Zeros, equipped with acoustic foam to further reduce noise.
The suspension and engine mounts have been fine-tuned for maximum comfort. With less negative camber up front, softer spring rates, and new steering hardware with a slower ratio, the all-wheel-drive system is biased towards the center rather than the rear. Rear-wheel steering remains standard.
The engine delivers 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, and the throttle mapping has been revised for smoother starts, achieving a quieter, more composed driving experience without sacrificing power or cornering ability.
Mercedes claims the SL 680 Monogram Series can accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 4.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 161 mph.
The SL 680 Monogram Series is expected to arrive at dealers in the second half of 2025, with premium pricing to be announced closer to the launch date, and additional colors or versions may be introduced in the future.
