The 2026 Kia EV6 has proven to be a practical and enjoyable electric crossover SUV, and for 2025, it promises to be even better. The new vehicle features a refreshed design, upgraded technology, and slightly improved performance. After its initial debut in Korea and Europe, the enhanced EV6 was showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show for the first time in North America. The vehicle now offers not only a longer range but also significantly improved handling and a more aggressive design. Meanwhile, the GT model sees a significant power boost.
On the exterior, the car boasts a revamped front design featuring smaller LED headlights and sleeker air intakes. The side showcases new wheel designs and subtle adjustments to the plastic components, while the rear features newly designed LED taillights and an upgraded bumper. Although these changes are gradual, they have succeeded in refreshing the EV6 without diluting its iconic design.
The facelifted version of the EV6 has seen a length increase of 15mm, while retaining its flowing lines and sporty design. Inside, the crossover features a new curved digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays. Other changes include a redesigned steering wheel and new touches on the center console. Owners can customize the display screens with their favorite NBA team colors and logos via the Kia Connect Store. Finally, the driver assistance suite has been enhanced, and the cabin is quieter thanks to additional sound-absorbing materials.
The 2025 EV6 has eliminated the smaller 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh battery options in favor of larger batteries of 63 kWh and 84 kWh, which are shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. These updates result in a maximum range of 513 km for the higher trims, an increase of 15 km compared to the previous long-range rear-wheel-drive model. Additionally, towing capacity sees a slight increase to 1225 kg.
Fast charging remains efficient thanks to the 800V fast charging platform, although Kia has relocated the charging port to the left rear fender for most models except the GT, which still supports the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
The 2025 Kia EV6 is available with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) electric motor configurations carried over from previous versions. The dual-motor system produces 601 horsepower with a temporary boost of 645 horsepower in GT mode. This update adds 65 horsepower and increases torque by 31 Newton meters compared to the previous GT, making it a more serious contender in the electric performance car arena.
Except for the GT model, the 2025 Kia EV6 will be assembled alongside the larger EV9 at Kia's facility in Georgia. Sales are expected to begin in the first half of next year, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch date.
