Overview of the New Hyundai Ioniq 9

Hyundai has officially unveiled the all-new Ioniq 9, which undoubtedly stands as the largest luxury electric SUV from the brand. Built on the renowned E-GMP platform, it supports most electric models from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.

Specifications and Performance Data

Let’s dive straight into its technical specifications. The new Ioniq 9 comes with a massive 110.3 kWh battery and is available in three different variants. The first variant features a single rear motor with a power output of 214 horsepower and a torque of 350 Nm, offering an impressive range of 620 kilometers per charge, with 19-inch wheels.

The second variant is equipped with an all-wheel-drive system and an additional front motor, boosting the total power to 310 horsepower and torque to 603 Nm. The top-tier variant, named 'Ioniq 9 Performance', delivers a total output of 430 horsepower and 698 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. All Ioniq 9 variants support fast charging, allowing 70% battery charge in just 24 minutes.

Despite its large size, the vehicle boasts a drag coefficient of only 0.259, making it one of the most aerodynamic SUVs on the market today, with wheel sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Luxurious and Modern Interior Design

The interior of the Ioniq 9 is spacious and luxurious, featuring a 12-inch curved digital display that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system, along with an audio system with 8 speakers. Hyundai also offers a more premium Bose sound system with 14 speakers. The interior design allows for options of 6 or 7 seats, with the second-row seats fully rotatable to face the third row, inspired by the Kia EV9.

Moreover, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is equipped with a range of the latest safety and driver assistance systems, including early collision avoidance, lane keeping, blind spot monitoring, and rear collision avoidance, with a total of 10 airbags ensuring passenger safety.

Market Launch and Prospects

The all-new Ioniq 9 will launch in South Korea and the USA in the first half of 2025, with plans to roll out in Europe and other global markets by the end of 2025. Hyundai will announce prices and more specifications later.

Additionally, Hyundai has unveiled a race-inspired Elantra N TCR sports version, featuring a giant rear wing and special modifications, which is worth noting.
