Honda has unveiled the all-new 2026 Passport, which boasts a bolder exterior and a more spacious interior. Thanks to the extended wheelbase, it not only looks more aggressive but also offers the highest off-road capabilities ever.
Engine Options
Honda decided to stick with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine for the 2026 Passport, foregoing hybrid or turbocharged options. This decision is sure to please off-road enthusiasts.
This engine provides all variants with 285 horsepower, a 5-horsepower increase over the previous generation, with a torque of 355 Nm, and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Exterior and Interior Design
The fourth generation of the Passport displays a muscular design with improved ground clearance, a wheelbase extended by 2.75 inches compared to the previous model, and features prominent fender flares with new 31-inch tires.
The interior of the 2026 Passport offers the largest and most spacious cabin in the model's history, equipped with a 10.2-inch digital display and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a premium Bose sound system with 12 speakers.
TrailSport Model Evolution
Honda introduced the TrailSport variant to the Passport in 2022 to give the previous generation a bolder aesthetic. However, in the new generation, this variant has undergone real off-road upgrades, including a modified suspension system and higher ground clearance, equipped with General Grabber all-terrain tires.
This variant features eye-catching orange accents on the exterior and additional cameras to monitor the surrounding terrain more accurately. Honda has clarified that the new Passport platform is specifically designed to enhance the performance and stability of the TrailSport variant, improving the overall driving experience for all models on rough terrains.
Honda also mentioned that the starting price for the vehicle in the US is expected to be close to $45,000, with production planned at its Alabama plant, aiming for a 2025 arrival in US dealerships.
