Honda's 2026 Passport TrailSport is set to debut in early 2025, with camouflaged prototype images captured during public road testing. The new generation model appears more boxy compared to its predecessor, with a flat roofline and a straighter rear end. Heavy camouflage obscures details, but hints of sharper headlights and larger taillights can be seen.
As part of the official teaser campaign, Honda has revealed that amber daytime running lights will be a design feature exclusive to the TrailSport variations. The more powerful and aggressive version of the vehicle will feature a TrailSport badge on the front grille with additional off-road enhancements. The alloy wheels appear to have a stronger design, fitted with 18-inch General Grabber Sport tires, making them suitable for production versions.
Similarly, the dual exhaust outlets seem designed to improve departure angles, while the roof rails are more pronounced than before. Interior shots reveal a standalone infotainment screen mounted atop the center console, similar to the Honda Pilot's screen.
According to Honda, the new Passport will be the most adventure-ready and durable Honda SUV yet. It combines off-road capability, versatility, and innovative features. While the automaker remains reserved about details, the 2026 Honda Passport is expected to share its platform and core components with the larger Pilot, which entered its fourth generation in 2023.
There’s a good chance the SUV will retain the 3.5-liter V6 engine. This engine in the previous Passport model since 2019 offered 284 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque. More details are anticipated as the release of the 2026 Honda Passport approaches next year.
