Toyota has announced simple updates for the 2025 GR86, especially launching it in the Japanese market. The core of this update is to improve the way the vehicle drives, with Toyota claiming to have introduced new ideas inspired by racing, providing a more unique driving sensation.
These updates aim to deliver a more precise driving experience, with a closer connection to the road. Toyota has upgraded the shock absorbers and electronic steering for better response, giving drivers tighter control over the road.
Additionally, the throttle control in the manual transmission version has been adjusted for a more direct connection between the driver’s foot and the engine. For automatic transmission drivers, engineers have expanded the engine RPM tolerance during shifting to allow for smoother and more responsive gear changes.
The vehicle in Japan is equipped with new features such as a tire pressure warning system and daytime running lights. At the same time, Toyota is preparing to launch a special limited edition named “RZ Ridge Green Limited,” limited to only 200 units, featuring a distinctive green paint job, 18-inch bronze wheels, and high-performance tires sized 215/40R18. The interior has also received luxurious stitching, a two-tone black sport seat, brown accents, and a blend of regular leather and suede.
The standard GR86 starts at $20,100 for the manual transmission version and $20,700 for the automatic version. The “Ridge Green Limited” version starts at a higher price of $24,500 for the manual and $25,100 for the automatic.
