The revamped 2025 RAM 1500 pickup truck has been officially unveiled by Stellantis. The truck has ditched the Hemi V8 engine in favor of the Hurricane six-cylinder engine.
Additionally, the new small pickup will offer more luxury and technology features, while the RAM TRX model will also be discontinued due to the elimination of the Hemi engine.
In 2025, this iconic truck will be available with three engine options. It will come equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 eTorque engine alongside the Hurricane engines, which will be available with outputs of 420 horsepower and 540 horsepower.
The 540-horsepower unit will be the powerhouse for the new RAM 1500 RHO model, which replaces the TRX as a competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor. All engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the chosen version, power will be directed to either the rear wheels or all four wheels. However, these changes have not impacted the capabilities of the RAM 1500.
According to the automaker, the truck boasts a maximum towing capacity of 11,580 pounds, a maximum payload capacity of 2,300 pounds, and can traverse water up to 24 inches deep. The RAM 1500 maintains its reputation as a comfortable truck, featuring a double front suspension and a five-link solid rear axle. An adjustable air suspension system is also available. Details about the RHO model have not been extensively shared, but it is essentially similar to the TRX version but with a smaller engine, meaning it will feature the same suspension system.
The 2025 RAM 1500 retains its familiar design, but numerous updates give the truck a more youthful appearance. The front headlights have been redesigned to be smaller and now feature LED lighting. The grille has also been re-engineered with a forward-leaning design.
RAM states that the grille is larger than before and the “RAM” badge has been elevated to enhance the truck's visual presence. At the rear, there are redesigned taillights with LED lighting elements in certain trims.
Additionally, the box and cab have been skillfully redesigned to improve aerodynamic flow. Ten exterior color options will be offered: Baltic Gray, Raw Silver, Bright White, Delmonico Red, Diamond Black, Flame Red, Water Blue, Ivory Tri-Coat, and River Rock. Other exterior updates include a new electric tailgate with obstacle detection features. Vehicles equipped with this feature now have a dedicated button for operating the tailgate.
The RamBox storage area is still available with a 115-volt outlet, providing owners with a weather-resistant and lockable storage area. Inside, owners will benefit from new premium materials and finishes. Depending on the trim level, high-end metal accents, premium leather, and even carbon fiber will be provided. The Bighorn and Lone Star models feature high-end Gideon upholstery with laser-etched trim on the dashboard, center console, and doors.
There are also seat coverings in Diesel Gray or Black. The Rebel trim's interior has been updated with red/black gradient mesh accents on the fabric seats. In the Laramie trim, customers benefit from special elements and can choose from the optional two-tone Bison Brown/Sea Salt Gray leather. In the higher trims, the Longhorn Limited editions benefit from wooden accents. This model is only available with Bison Brown leather and features front seat massage functionality.
Finally, the Limited versions have received new black ebony wood accents. The interior also offers an optional black/red ebony color package. Additionally, the new Tungsten trim offers a range of features and luxury. The interior is adorned with Indigo/Sea Salt Natura leather, metallic accents, and a suede headliner. This model also features unique exterior design elements, including a one-piece front fascia instead of a separate steel bumper, and comes with 22-inch wheels. The front seats are electrically adjustable in 24 positions and include memory settings, massage functionality, and lumbar support.
The Klipsch Reference Premiere sound system, with 23 speakers and 1,228 watts of power, along with dual wireless chargers, is also part of the package. Other stylish touches include the Tungsten logo on the center console. The 2025 RAM 1500 also features an improved Uconnect entertainment system. A 12-inch display is standard, but there is also a 14.5-inch touchscreen available. For the first time in its class, a 10.25-inch passenger screen is available, providing the front passenger with three functions, including entertainment, navigation, and external camera viewing. The 2025 RAM 1500 is equipped with numerous standard safety features, including an active driving assist system that offers customers Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities.
