The 2025 Nissan Qashqai, a pioneer in modern crossover vehicles, has undergone a complete redesign and technological upgrade. The third generation model has just received a comprehensive update in appearance and technology to help it maintain its leading position in competition while further strengthening its connection with the electric vehicle Aria.
The most noticeable change is the front fascia, which has replaced the original V-shaped chrome grille and peculiar fork-shaped headlights along with the DRL light group. In their place is a larger and more aesthetically pleasing grille, inspired by the armor of ancient Japanese warriors, while the hidden headlights and ultra-lifted DRL light group modernize the overall look.
The modifications at the rear are simpler but include a new set of LED tail lights and a redesigned bumper, with a more aggressive lower section giving the Qashqai a sportier presence. In the new N-Design category, a larger bumper, body trims, and 20-inch wheels replace the usual 18 and 19-inch sizes.
However, all these changes are merely design touches, as the full range of powertrains remains unchanged. Buyers can choose between two mild hybrid engines, a 1.3-liter with outputs of 138 hp and 158 hp. There is also a 1.5-liter full hybrid E-Power engine with 187 hp, where the combustion engine is used solely for battery charging and does not directly drive the wheels at all. However, Nissan still does not offer the Qashqai with a purely electric or plug-in hybrid option.
The vehicle has also received an updated infotainment system based on Android with integrated Google Maps and a personal Google Assistant. There are further technological advancements in the 360-degree camera system, which now features a 3D function allowing drivers to view the Qashqai from every external angle.
The AVW system also comes equipped with an “invisible hood display” as well as a “parking spot memory” that can save frequently used parking locations and park automatically. The same technology can be used to save intersection locations.
The updated Qashqai is currently being produced at Nissan’s Sunderland factory in the UK and will soon reach European distributors.
