Nissan has neglected the previous generation of Frontier for over a decade, resulting in minimal changes. However, that is set to change as the company prepares a thorough update for the vehicle launched in 2021.
Spy photos of the facelifted truck have surfaced, although not much can be seen apart from some camouflage. While this is disappointing, the model will receive a new grille, updated bumpers, and a revised tailgate. An insider also noted that the truck will have a new orange paint color along with a PRO-X version featuring a long bed.
Although the Frontier's design is only a few years old, its interior looks outdated due to the small 8- and 9-inch infotainment systems. It is said that these will be replaced by an entirely new system featuring built-in Google functionality along with a significantly larger screen. The exact size of the screens is unknown, but some sources indicate it could be at least 12 inches.
In addition to the modern infotainment system, the truck will come with a revised dashboard and new air vents. The safety features of the vehicle may also be updated.
The improved Frontier is expected to arrive as a 2025 model with a familiar engine lineup. As a result, a 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 381 Nm of torque is anticipated. It will also be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which can be connected to an optional four-wheel drive system.
