Mazda has officially introduced the 2025 Mazda 6e, its new all-electric model, to the European market. Positioned as a strong competitor to the Tesla Model 3, the 6e has captured significant attention. With right-hand drive versions available, it is designed as a global contender.
Given the Middle East’s active promotion of the electric vehicle (EV) industry, the potential for a local release remains high. Interestingly, the car is also available in China as a 1.5L supercharged model, raising the question of whether both versions will launch simultaneously.
The Mazda 6e mirrors the Chinese EZ-6 and stands as a mid-sized, pure electric sedan with a practical five-door hatchback design, offering more versatility than traditional three-door models.
Exterior Design: Kodo Styling Continues
Mazda’s signature Kodo design language is evident in the 6e. The front grille, outlined by LED light strips, adds a modern technological touch with lights that "blink" during charging to display battery status.
Smooth side panels, frameless windows, a sleek roofline, and an active rear spoiler contribute to the car’s dynamic and sporty look.
Body Dimensions:
Length: 4,921 mm
Width: 1,890 mm
Height: 1,485 mm
Wheelbase: 2,895 mm
Performance and Power Options
The Mazda 6e comes with two battery configurations to suit different needs: 68.8 kWh and 80 kWh.
68.8 kWh Version:
Maximum output: 255 hp (258 PS)
Range: Up to 483 km (300 miles)
Charging power: Up to 200 kW
10% to 80% charge in 22 minutes
Fast charging adds 233 km (145 miles) in 15 minutes
0-100 km/h acceleration: 7.6 seconds
80 kWh Version:
Maximum output: 241 hp (244 PS)
Range: Up to 555 km (345 miles)
10% to 80% charge in 45 minutes
0-100 km/h acceleration: 7.8 seconds
While it may not rival the Tesla Model 3's impressive acceleration of 5.8 seconds (0-100 km/h), the Mazda 6e strikes a balance between performance, range, and practicality.
Interior: Sophistication Meets Technology
The Mazda 6e offers a thoughtfully designed interior that emphasizes comfort and usability while maintaining a premium feel.
Key features include:
10.2-inch LCD instrument cluster with a head-up display to provide essential driver information
14.6-inch center touchscreen that integrates control for most vehicle functions
This modern cabin configuration meets the expectations of today's tech-savvy drivers without compromising comfort.
Middle East Availability
Sales in continental Europe are expected to begin in the second half of 2025, with the UK following in early 2026 due to right-hand drive configurations. A launch in Egypt and Saudi Arabia is anticipated shortly afterward, reflecting Mazda’s expanding global reach.
The Middle East has been actively promoting the EV industry for a few years now, so I believe there is still a good chance of a local introduction. It's worth mentioning that this car is also available in China as a 1.5L supercharged model, so will the two models be introduced together in the future? It's worth looking forward to!
