The 2025 Jeep Compass is priced at $27,495, down $2,500 compared to last year, making it more appealing yet still pricier than the Subaru Crosstrek. Expensive options and packages can push the price beyond $40,000.
Redesign and Trim Simplification
The 2025 Compass will hit dealerships this fall, positioned more competitively due to mid-model price cuts. The original price for the 2024 model was $29,995 based on October data. Jeep has made significant changes to its lineup since refreshing it for 2022, discontinuing the Cherokee midsize crossover and the Renegade small crossover.
Market Competition and Sales Challenges
The redesign aimed to elevate the Compass like the Grand Cherokee L, but it has struggled to carve out its niche in the crowded compact crossover segment. Despite mid-cycle price cuts, Compass sales have dropped 3% this year compared to 2023, with a 21% decline in the second quarter.
Power and Configuration
Jeep has streamlined the 2025 Compass lineup to four trims: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. Every Compass features a 200-hp turbo-4 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that powers all four wheels. Jeep offers two all-wheel-drive systems, providing the Compass with off-road capabilities that most competitors only pretend to possess.
Safety and Convenience Features
Standard safety features across the lineup include LED lighting, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active lane control, and blind-spot monitors. Convenience features include an 8.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth upholstery, and keyless entry.
Value for Money and Options
The base content is solid for the price, especially with standard all-wheel drive, though it still costs at least $1,000 more than the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and 2025 Mazda CX-30, both of which come with standard AWD. However, the options can be pricey; Jeep charges $1,575 for a trailer hitch and wiring harness, while most rivals charge far less than $1,000. Features like a panoramic sunroof are bundled in expensive Altitude packages that cost $3,275.
Model Features
The 2025 Compass Latitude starts at $29,765, adding a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, vinyl and cloth upholstery, and the Altitude package that unlocks a 10.1-inch touchscreen and other upgrades. The $33,840 Limited model adds 18-inch wheels, fancier wipers, floormats, synthetic leather, a larger touchscreen, and many more options.
The $33,990 Trailhawk retains Latitude features but upgrades its off-road gear with skid plates, all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, a full-size spare, three tow hooks, low-speed crawling gear, and raised suspension by one inch.
Made in Mexico, the 2025 Compass goes on sale this fall.
