Hyundai has introduced the upgraded Ioniq 5, which will be manufactured at its new factory in Georgia. In addition to being produced in the US, the 2025 Ioniq 5 receives minor updates including improvements to the front and rear bumpers, an optimized rear wing, and more aerodynamically efficient wheels. Buyers will also find several new exterior colors, known as Atlas Matte White, Electronic Matte Gray, and Caledon Matte Gray.
Interior changes are subtle but include a new steering wheel, an updated center console, and improved physical buttons for frequently used features. Buyers will also find additional standard features that vary by trim.
The company has also introduced the XRT edition, which is slightly more powerful than the previous version. The vehicle features unique black accents and a digital camouflage pattern on the bumpers at the front. The XRT comes with 18-inch matte black wheels and all-terrain tires. Other highlights include red tow hooks and two exclusive colors known as Ultimate Red and Cosmic Pearl Blue.
Special touches continue inside with unique H-Tex upholstery featuring the XRT logo on the backrest. They are complemented by a black headliner and all-weather floor mats. In addition to the new XRT edition, the 2025 Ioniq 5 has gained larger battery capacities. The standard model's battery capacity ranges from 58 to 63 kWh, increasing the range from 354 km to over 386 km.
Likewise, the long-range model’s battery capacity ranges from 77.4 to 84 kWh. This would increase the range to over 499 km for the rear-wheel-drive model, while all-wheel-drive versions are expected to have a range between 402 km and over 451 km.
Speaking of batteries and charging, the Ioniq 5 is Hyundai's first vehicle equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. This means customers will be able to use Tesla's Supercharger network without needing an adapter. Owners will also be able to use CCS chargers, although they will need to purchase an adapter.
