The 2025 GMC Yukon has undergone significant updates, aligning itself with vehicles sharing the same platform, such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade, which have already received facelifts. The new Yukon features a bolder front design and a completely redesigned interior, complete with a massive infotainment display, as well as more powerful diesel engine options now available across the lineup. Additionally, a new AT4 Ultimate version has been introduced, combining off-road capabilities with premium comfort.
Externally, GMC designers focused on the front fascia of the Yukon. The longer LED headlights now extend deeper into the redesigned bumper, while the updated grille provides greater differentiation between trims. The vehicle also features dynamic lighting modules. The rear changes are more subtle, with a new trim linking the rear lights slightly and the now square exhaust outlets.
The design largely carries over from the fourth-generation Yukon that debuted in 2020. However, there are new wheel options now available up to 24 inches on the Denali Ultimate. The new AT4 Ultimate version features a more distinct off-road setup with 20-inch all-terrain tires, red badges, and a prominent skid plate.
Inside, the dashboard has been completely redesigned to align with modern full-size SUV trends. It features massive screens, such as the 55-inch display in the 2025 Cadillac Escalade. The new 16.8-inch vertically oriented infotainment system marks a significant upgrade from the previous version.
Available features include an 8-inch touchscreen climate control for rear passengers, a panoramic sunroof, and a 22-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system in the Denali Ultimate version. This system includes speakers mounted on the headrests of the front seats and optional executive seats in the second row.
The new AT4 Ultimate model combines a robust appearance and an adaptive air suspension system with a more luxurious interior. The vehicle features Obsidian Rush trims, leather seating, and Ash Burl wood accents.
While the Cadillac Escalade has dropped the diesel option in its recent facelift, the Yukon continues to offer diesel engines, introducing a more powerful 3.0-liter Duramax engine. This engine produces 309 horsepower and 671 Nm of torque, representing an increase of 28 horsepower and 48 Nm compared to the previous model. The diesel engine is available across all trims, including the off-road-oriented AT4 and AT4 Ultimate versions.
The vehicle also offers a standard 5.3-liter V8 gasoline engine producing 355 horsepower and an optional 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420 horsepower. All three engine options are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels.
The safety equipment has been updated with the addition of the latest advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Key features include a night vision system with thermal detection of objects and the Super Cruise feature. It offers a towing capacity of 3810 kg. The vehicle is expected to hit the American market by the end of this year, with pricing to be announced when production begins at the Texas plant.
