Weeks after launching the new Genesis G80 Magma equipped with a powerful 6-cylinder twin-turbo engine generating over 500 horsepower, Genesis has now unveiled the fully electric variant of this sporty sedan at the Beijing International Auto Show. This electric model features a more understated blue color compared to the striking orange of the 6-cylinder version, with 21-inch wheels and extensive carbon fiber accents throughout the exterior.
Innovative Solar Roof and Premium Interior
While the exterior design closely resembles that of the gasoline-powered Genesis G80 Magma, the electric version differentiates itself with innovative solar panels on the roof, enabling battery charging during daylight to extend its driving range.
The interior reflects the luxury expected from Genesis, featuring high-quality leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber embellishments throughout the cabin.
Genesis has not disclosed detailed specifications for the new electric G80 Magma, but it has indicated that its performance will exceed that of the gasoline model, suggesting a horsepower level nearing 600.
Will the New Genesis G80 Magma Electric Be Exclusive to China?
Although the sedan was introduced as a concept vehicle, Genesis has hinted strongly at the possibility of a production model being launched soon. However, it remains uncertain whether this vehicle will be exclusive to the Chinese market or available globally.
In conjunction with the launch of the sporty Magma version, Genesis also revealed an updated standard electric G80 model featuring a longer wheelbase specifically for the Chinese market and a substantial 27-inch interior display among other enhancements.
