The 2025 Lexus RX, recognized as the best-selling model for the brand, is set to receive a few updates. Among the most significant is the unveiling of the new Black Line special edition, which is based on the RX 500h F Sport Performance.
This new version features an exterior design with black accents, 21-inch black wheels, and orange brakes. While additional changes to the vehicle are limited, the two-tone design is echoed in the interior, which boasts a black design with contrasting gray stitching. Production will be limited to 500 units across North America.
In addition to the new special edition, Lexus has decided to introduce the F Sport Design trim. This seems somewhat unnecessary given the numerous existing trims such as F Sport Performance, F Sport Handling, Luxury, Premium Plus, Premium, and Standard.
The F Sport Design is exclusively available with the RX 350 and RX 350h models. This new trim builds on the Premium level while adding traditional F Sport design elements seen at the front fascia, grille, and rear diffuser, along with open-pore black wood accents and 21-inch black wheels.
If the seven trims are not enough, the RX also offers a wide range of engine options. There are so many options that Lexus even confused itself, claiming the RX 350 has a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, it actually features a familiar 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 275 horsepower and 429 Nm of torque.
Similarly, the RX 350h returns with a hybrid engine producing 246 horsepower and 316 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the RX 500h F Sport Performance has a total output of 366 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Given that these options are clearly not enough, Lexus also offers the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid.
This model features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, three electric motors, and an 18.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a total output of 304 horsepower and an electric-only range of 56 km.
