Alfa Romeo has simplified the Tonale lineup in the U.S., now offering it as a single base model rather than three different options. The Italian automaker made a similar move last month with the 2025 Giulia and Stelvio models, reducing their trims from three to one.
This means that the 2025 Tonale base model is priced significantly higher than last year’s model. While the 2024 Tonale Sprint started at $43,845, the new single variant is priced at $48,195. This also represents a considerable increase compared to the old mid-range Ti model, which was priced at $46,500, but it is slightly cheaper than the $51,040 Veloce model that topped the 2024 lineup. This new pricing places the Tonale uncomfortably close to the larger Stelvio model, which starts at $51,195.
The new base Tonale for 2025 replaces the Sprint, Ti, and Veloce trims and can now be offered with Veloce, Active Assist, and Premium packages. The base package adds red Brembo brakes, Veloce badging, dual exhaust tips, and aluminum door handles. It also includes aluminum paddle shifters and a double-wishbone suspension system.
Additionally, the Active Assist package can be added, which includes a suite of active driving assistance features, a surround-view camera, and ParkSense for parallel/perpendicular parking. The exterior mirrors feature automatic dimming. The Premium package adds perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, driver seat memory, ambient lighting, and a power liftgate. There are also numerous individual options available, including a sunroof, premium Harman Kardon sound system, and 19- and 20-inch wheels.
A limited-production version of the crossover dubbed the Tonale Italiano 2025 has also been introduced. It comes standard with a unique body kit, 20-inch Grigio wheels, red Brembo brakes, and a dual chrome exhaust system. It features a hands-free power liftgate, a black-painted roof, and aluminum door sills. The door functions include driver seat memory, and the seats are perforated leather with red accents, complemented by a powerful Harman Kardon sound system.
All 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale models come standard with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and a 15.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, producing 285 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The Tonale can travel up to 53 km on electric power alone.
