Alfa Romeo has introduced some simple updates to its Tonale model, debuting as the 2025 version at the Paris Motor Show. These updates are primarily focused on the interior, aiming to enhance the vehicle’s competitiveness in the small luxury crossover segment. The updates are minimal, with the most notable change being the redesigned lower center console, which features a rotary knob replacing the traditional gear lever. Alfa Romeo also claims to have improved the instrument cluster, which should enhance the visibility of onboard information such as the clock and fuel gauges.
However, besides general refinements, it’s still unclear if any other enhancements have been made. Furthermore, some of the plastic materials remain harder than one might expect in this vehicle compared to its premium rivals. While the BMW X1 appears more luxurious, the Tonale's interior still offers a respectable and distinctive environment.Additionally, Alfa has streamlined the Tonale lineup in Europe, discontinuing the flagship Tributo Italiano edition, leaving buyers with only the base Sprint or sporty Veloce options. Alfa Romeo claims this provides a "clear and customer-focused approach". For the European market, the engine options include a 130-horsepower 1.6-liter turbo diesel, a 160-horsepower 1.5-liter hybrid, and a 280-horsepower plug-in hybrid Q4 engine.
