Audi expands its electric car lineup with the introduction of the new Q6 Sportback e-tron and SQ6 Sportback e-tron, both stylish coupe SUVs that made their debut at the Paris Motor Show and are expected to reach the United States in spring or summer next year. These models follow the design language of the Q6 and SQ6 e-tron series but come with a new design format previously tested on the Q4 and Q8 Sportback e-tron models. As a result, they feature a sleek windshield that extends to a sporty roof, complemented by an integrated glass section and a sharp rear window.
In addition to a more dynamic appearance, the coupe SUVs boast a drag coefficient of just 0.26, outperforming the regular model by 0.02, allowing the Sportback to achieve a range of up to 656 kilometers.
While the coupe SUV shares its length and wheelbase with the regular model, the Sportback is 37 mm lower. Inside, there is a high-tech interior featuring an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment system running on Android Automotive. In addition to standard screens, customers can opt for a head-up display and a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger.
The voice assistant is powered by ChatGPT, enabling it to understand over 800 commands. Customers can also choose a luxurious Bang & Olufsen sound system with 20 speakers, which includes four speakers integrated into the front headrests.
Sustainability enthusiasts will find a variety of eco-friendly materials, including recycled elements. The headliner, pillars, and sun visors are covered with Draft, a “fabric made from 100% recycled polyester.” Customers can also select other fabrics made from recycled materials such as Elastic Melange.
The car offers a trunk capacity of 511 liters, which can be expanded to 1373 liters by folding down the rear seats. All models are built on the Premium Platform Electric, with the base Q6 Sportback e-tron featuring an 83 kWh battery and a rear-mounted motor producing up to 288 horsepower, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and travel up to 545 kilometers on a single charge.
Customers seeking more range and power can opt for the Q6 Sportback e-tron, which features a larger 100 kWh battery and a more powerful motor generating 322 horsepower, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 6.6 seconds and an increased range of 656 kilometers.
The all-wheel-drive Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro produces 383 horsepower. This dual-motor version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and can travel up to 636 kilometers between charging stations. This leads us to the SQ6 Sportback e-tron, which boasts 510 horsepower and can reach 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. The all-wheel-drive coupe SUV has a range of 607 kilometers and a top speed of 230 km/h, which is 20 km/h faster than the standard versions.
Prices for the car start at €65,900 in Germany, while customers in the UK will need to pay £62,475. US pricing will be announced ahead of the launch, but it is expected to be higher than the starting price of $63,800 for the Q6 e-tron.
