BMW New Generation Concept unveiled at 2024 Jeddah International Motor Show

Among the most prestigious vehicles at the 2024 Mondial de l'Auto, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse models undoubtedly stand out.

At the recently inaugurated 2024 Paris Motor Show, BMW Group showcased its entire lineup of all-electric products, with the spotlight firmly on the debut appearance of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse and BMW Vision Neue Klasse X. These models not only captivated the attendees but also significantly elevated the event's prestige, accelerating the brand's transition into the "Neue Klasse" era.

At the same time, BMW featured over 15 electric models spanning across the BMW and MINI brands, covering a wide array of market segments. This extensive display highlighted BMW Group's significant strides into a new phase of electrification.

BMW's Electric Evolution

In the first nine months of this year, the BMW Group's sales of all-electric vehicles saw a significant increase of 19.1%, with the BMW brand's all-electric models achieving an even more impressive growth of 22.6%.

BMW Future Developments

The launch of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse and BMW Vision Neue Klasse X not only represents BMW's future vision for its two core product lines, the sports sedan and the SAV, but also marks a new phase in the development of the BMW brand.

These two concept cars showcase BMW's core features in electrification, digitalization, and sustainable circularity, enhancing the label of pure driving pleasure with innovative design and technology. It is reported that the new generation of BMW models will go into production globally next year.

Human-centric & Intelligent reduction

In terms of design, the two new-generation concept cars clearly convey BMW’s design philosophy of "human-centric, intelligent reduction, tech-magic".

The new-generation BMW concept cars retain classic elements of BMW sedans like the short front overhang and dynamic posture, while incorporating a newly designed front end and lighting effects to emphasize the sporty character of the vehicles.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X displays a broad, three-dimensional shape and extremely streamlined lines, highlighting a sense of power and the unique design language specific to Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs).

Technology improves driving experience

In terms of technology and performance, the Neue Klasse will be equipped with a brand new electronic and electrical architecture and intelligent domain control systems, elevating BMW’s pure driving pleasure to a new dimension.

Among these, the "Driving Control Super Brain" and "Driver Assistance Super Brain" will respectively enhance platform performance and the level of autonomous driving assistance technologies, providing users with a safer, more comfortable, and more efficient driving experience.

Moreover, the Neue Klasse will achieve an overall energy efficiency improvement of over 25%, an increase in driving range by 30%, and a significant reduction in charging time, further meeting users’ demands for electric vehicle performance and convenience.

Human–Computer Interaction

In terms of human-computer interaction(HCI), the Neue Klasse models have adopted the latest generation of the BMW iDrive system. The four major interactive interfaces inside the vehicle have reinterpreted BMW's classic "driver-oriented" design philosophy. Utilizing a layered design, multi-screen synergy, and seamless connectivity, the new generation vehicles offer a smooth and natural interaction experience between the car and its users, allowing drivers to focus more on the driving itself and enjoy the pure pleasure of driving.

BMW will lead the way

Mr.Hooydonk, Senior Vice President Design of the BMW Group, said, “In the next five years, we will experience huge changes in technology. We will use them as an opportunity to significantly change BMW Design. It will become more authentic, much more modern, and even cleaner. Everyone will recognize these changes at first glance – nevertheless, they will always know that these are vehicles from BMW.”
