Toyota launched the Century SUV model last year and hinted at a more exciting GRMN version, which would be the only special edition. However, Toyota's president Akio Toyoda recently confirmed that the vehicle will go into production and will not be a unique version as previously planned. Additionally, the new Century GRMN SUV will be showcased in China alongside its presentation in Japan.
These details were shared during a meeting between Toyoda and Century car owners from China. This event is part of the vehicle's launch campaign in the Chinese market, targeting younger entrepreneurs.
Toyoda stated that the Century GRMN version he owns is the only one in the world, but he wants to make it a global vehicle available to everyone. He confirmed that they plan to launch the vehicle in the Chinese market in the near future.
The initial versions of the vehicle feature an exterior package and a new design with unpainted carbon fiber elements. Optional features include sliding side doors and 22-inch black aluminum wheels.
While the company has not specified any details regarding the vehicle's technical specifications, it is expected to offer updated suspension, improved brakes, and more powerful engines.
The standard version of the vehicle comes with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine producing 406 horsepower, a CVT transmission, and an all-wheel-drive system. It is expected that the power of this vehicle will make it a competitor to models like Aston Martin DBX707, Lamborghini Urus, and Mercedes-AMG G63.
