I want to ask about the 2018 ZS. A couple of days ago, it wouldn't start, so I had it towed for repair. The shop owner told me it's due to a timing chain slip, which caused the valve to bend, and it needs major engine repairs. They said that timing chain slips are common issues with MG and Roewe. Is that true? [About to cry]

I own a 2014 SsangYong Korando, 2WD high trim, 2.0 gasoline. Recently, the check engine light occasionally turns on with the error code indicating a misfire in cylinder 1. Sometimes it turns off by itself. I've swapped spark plugs between cylinder 1 and 2, ignition coils between cylinder 1 and 3, and even swapped the injectors. I planned to use elimination to check if it's the injector issue, but after each swap, the misfire code for cylinder 1 still comes back eventually! The engine idles with slight vibrations, but I don't feel any power loss on the highway—it easily goes over 160 km/h. Later, I measured the cylinder pressure: cylinder 1 is at 8 kg, while the others are over 10 kg. After researching online, I suspect it's an exhaust valve issue. Now I'm really torn. Should I just let it be, or go for a major repair? I read online that some people can fix it by opening the cylinder head without removing the engine. But the local big auto shop is no more, and the private mechanic suggests removing the engine, which I really don't want to do—worried it won't fit back as perfectly as the original. It's stressful because I bought this as a first car for my father, who has loved cars all his life, and now this happens. I've been to various places without a clear diagnosis. Some say it's slight cylinder wear, some say valve leakage, and others mention cylinder head design flaws. Any advice from fellow Korando owners on how to solve similar issues would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone! My brother's about to order a car. He's interested in the LTD with full-time 4WD for driving on highways in wet weather but also likes the Offroad version with rear locker + KDSS. So, I have a few questions: 1) Can the LTD have a rear axle locker installed? How about the ARB air locker, is it a non-destructive modification, and how's the quality? 2) In rainy or snowy weather with the Offroad version, what happens if you drive fast in two-wheel drive? Isn't it unsafe due to slipping? If you switch to H4, does it have a center differential, and what's the maximum speed you can go (80 km/h)? 3) If we end up buying the LTD, can we modify it with the TRD front bumper? The TRD front really looks good. Thanks, everyone!

I have a 2019 GS5, and since early August, there's been a buzzing noise when driving between 60-100 km/h. It feels like I'm flying a plane, especially when I turn right, it gets louder. The dealership said it was a wheel bearing issue, so I had the bearings replaced, then the tires, and even the half shaft, but the problem still isn't solved. Has anyone else had this kind of issue? Please point me in the right direction. I don't want to keep wasting money and time on blind repairs. [About to cry]

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, my Sportage suddenly started beeping and wouldn't start, no idea what I touched. It seemed like closing the hood fixed it. Has anyone else experienced this? It's happened to me two or three times in the past couple of months. Does anyone know how to solve this?

When starting a cold car, it should normally take about 2 seconds, but sometimes it takes 5 or 6 seconds. Does anyone else have the same issue? Last time, I replaced a solenoid valve under warranty, but it didn't help. The warranty is about to expire, and I want to fix the problem. I have a 2019 GAC GA6 Luxury Edition.

Can I still consider getting a 3.6 from 2017 to 2023 after a few years? I really like this model but I'm not a fan of the new Cherokee design. Plus, there aren't many 3.6 models from 2017 onwards available in the market. Our family car still has about five to six years before it retires. I'm worried about buying it only to face major repairs. Can I still consider getting one with higher mileage by then?

Today I was driving my MG One and stopped at a red light. I put the car in park, and when the light turned green, I shifted to drive. Suddenly, the car system reported that the battery was dead and there was an engine fault code. The car wouldn't move even when I pressed the gas. After turning off the engine and restarting the car, it was able to move again, and the fault code disappeared. I went to a friend's repair shop to check, but they didn't find any issues. Since I was at the traffic light and the car behind kept honking, I didn't have time to take a picture. I'm a bit regretful about that. When I go to the 4S shop, I'm not sure how to explain it.

In the past couple of months, I've experienced my car's system crashing twice. The first time, I had to disconnect the car battery and reset to factory settings to get it back to normal. But after about ten days, it happened again. This time, I didn't do anything, and after letting the car sit for an hour, it started working fine again. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue, as I haven't updated the system for quite some time. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
