Is the Nissan X-Trail still worth buying, and what are its pros and cons? Are the drawbacks significant, and are they acceptable?

The top version currently can be out-the-door for around 17k. If you don't mind the three-cylinder engine, you can go for it; if you do, then don't buy it.
