Hey folks, I have a question. I'm interested in the X-Trail Hybrid, and I'm wondering about the battery warranty terms. The salesperson told me that the car must be serviced and repaired at the dealership, and the insurance must be purchased there every year for the battery to be covered under warranty. Is this true? Does Nissan do this too? Did you guys ask about this when buying a car?

Insurance doesn't matter, if this shop insists on that, just switch to another one to make your purchase.

Maintenance and repairs must be done at the 4S shop. For minor repairs, like glass or bumper exterior parts, I don't really care where they're done. Where you buy insurance doesn't affect the warranty. Nissan's warranty terms aren't that tricky.
