Is there a significant difference in driving experience between the 2.5 and 3.0? I'm planning to buy a used Viano and later get a towed RV. Will a 2.5 engine struggle with towing a trailer? Normally, the 2.5 should consume more fuel compared to the 3.0, but since the car often idles for 1-2 hours waiting for people, would the 2.5 be more fuel-efficient in this situation?

I bought a second-hand 2.5 for hauling, and the power is just terrible [tears]. It's comparable to the feeling of the old M271 low-power engine, but obviously, a small car and a truck feel different to drive. I'm just worried about blowing up the engine; it feels like the gear shifts only happen above 3000 RPM [picking nose].

You should go for the 3.5 or 3.0 version of this car. The 2.5 isn't fuel-efficient and lacks power. Plus, the engine wear over the years tends to be greater than with the 3.5.

I'm considering buying a used diesel Grand Cherokee with a budget of around 150,000. My budget is limited, and as a working-class individual, I'm considering diesel for its fuel efficiency. I'm currently driving a 2.0T Mondeo, and the fuel consumption for commuting is 11 liters per 100 km. My concern is that some people say diesel engines are unstable and have high maintenance costs later on. My driving scenario is mainly commuting to work, with a daily round trip of 20 km. I’m also thinking about long-distance travel with my family during holidays. I’d love to hear from actual owners about their experiences and what I should pay attention to when making a choice. Thank you very much.
