Why is the compact Tucson L more expensive than the mid-size Sonata? What were they thinking?

[Just want some peace] Does anyone know what Bei (referring to a car brand/model) is thinking right now? If they aren't lowering the price, are they really banking on nostalgia to sell? It's quite something that it's priced so much higher than the Sonata just for adding a heads-up display and Bose speakers.

I advise against buying from Beijing Hyundai. Many of their dealerships have closed down, and there's currently no after-sales service. The promised free lifetime basic maintenance is just a scam. The dealership in my area has closed, and there are only three left in Shaanxi. Many places are withdrawing their networks, leaving no place for maintenance. When I called the official hotline, they told me to go to a place over 300 kilometers away for service. Does that sound reasonable? A round trip of over 600 kilometers, and there wasn't even a notification when the dealership closed. The lifetime maintenance they promised is now useless, just deceiving customers. If you go elsewhere for maintenance, the warranty becomes void as the manufacturer won't recognize it. Check my profile for more details.

1. The initial price is definitely on the higher side.
2. SUVs are generally priced higher than sedans.

If this car doesn't drop by 50,000, it definitely won't sell. [I want to stay quiet] How come Hyundai is even more confident than Volkswagen? [I want to stay quiet]
