I have a question. I just got a 1.4T Touran. When I first start driving, the fuel consumption display shows over 20 liters per 100 kilometers. It only starts to decrease after driving for 10 to 20 kilometers, with the lowest being 7.5 liters. Is this normal? Is it the same for you guys?

Turning on the air conditioning results in normal fuel consumption, even slightly lower. However, when the air conditioning is off, the fuel consumption is still normal but slightly higher.

That's normal, it's calculating your current fuel consumption.

Mine too, and mine is a manual. I've even experienced 11 liters per 100 km with the AC on.

For a fuel consumption of 7.5 liters, it depends on your speed. My car is also a 1.4T, and to achieve 7.5, you should be driving at speeds above 110 km/h.

I think it's a personal habit issue. You might not be used to it at first, but it should improve once you get used to it.

There are many reasons for high fuel consumption. Firstly, poor driving habits. If you keep stepping on the gas pedal heavily and lightly, the fuel consumption will definitely be high. Secondly, frequent short trips of less than 10 kilometers. Thirdly, issues with the car. Check if the oxygen sensor, coolant temperature sensor, or air flow meter have problems; or if there's an issue with the braking system, like the brake caliper not returning properly. Fourthly, using private fuel. It's recommended to try fuel from major brands. Fifthly, excessive carbon deposits in the fuel lines or cylinders. Using a gasoline cleaner is advised to remove carbon deposits. Sixthly, a clogged catalytic converter. Seventhly, insufficient tire pressure or poor lubrication or damage to the bearings. Eighthly, poor spark plug ignition or serious exhaust issues. Lastly, using inferior engine oil. It's recommended to switch to a high-quality fully synthetic 0W-40 engine oil.

Yes, that's your instant fuel consumption. To check the average fuel consumption, mine is 6.8.

The original battery in your Haima S5 from 2016, manual transmission, has been in use for six years. After being parked for half a month, you jump-started it with a power bank and have been driving it 50 kilometers daily for a week, but it still remains in a discharged state. If the car can't start after being off for more than an hour, it might be time to replace the battery.
