I've been checking out the 2024 1.4T version of the Superb and want to ask about the actual fuel consumption. Planning to use it for commuting and occasional trips. I'm concerned about fuel economy, especially with city traffic. I'm torn between the Corolla Hybrid and the Superb 1.4T for long-term ownership. Any advice from those who've been down this road?

Is the price of 1.4 and 11.4 for the base model reasonable?

Small engines aren't necessarily more fuel-efficient, and large engines aren't necessarily fuel guzzlers. If you can go for a 2.0, don't settle for a 1.4.

I got my 1.4 car this August. In the city, it takes over 8 liters.

Talk about your fuel consumption at high speeds, and mention your speed.

If you want to save on fuel, don't consider a gasoline car.

In the city, it's around 7-9, in the suburbs about 5.8. I've managed to get it down to 5.3 at the lowest, and it should be more economical on the highway.

Listen bro, if you've got the money, go for the Passat 1.4. If you're saving, consider the Superb 1.4. Don't touch the Japanese cars. The 1.4 is the most fuel efficient, practically on par with the Japanese ones.

In city traffic jams, it consumes around 9-11 liters per 100 km. For slow-moving city traffic, it's about 8-9 liters. On expressways, it uses 5-6 liters, and on highways at speeds of 100-120 km/h, it's generally around 5.5 liters.
