Has any fellow car enthusiast replaced the rear license plate lights on a Sienna? The original halogen bulbs get really hot when I accidentally touched the cover while opening the tailgate. So, I want to replace them with LED license plate lights. But when I tried to do it myself, I could only remove the outer frame, and couldn't move anything inside. I went to the dealership, and they said the entire tailgate interior panel needs to be removed to change it. Does Toyota really have such a complicated process? I can hardly believe it! Has anyone done this before? Any tips would be appreciated!

It's not difficult to take it apart by yourself. It's quite simple, just two screws, and then you slowly work around the edges. I changed to LED myself. The manual isn't reliable. When you're finally changing the light, just use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry under the moisture-proof foam pad, and it'll be fine. Definitely don't follow the manual.

I replaced it with LED. You need to remove the rear door tail cover. I went to Tmall Auto Service to find someone to replace it.
