Hey fellow car enthusiasts, I've switched to Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 motor oil, but now the acceleration feels sluggish and the idle is higher. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? I was hoping to upgrade to better oil, but it seems to have backfired.

Aggressive driving at 40. Regular commuting at 30 is also fine.

Shell is quite average in all aspects. Try switching to Mobil. 😁

I'm using this engine oil, but I don't feel much difference. This car is just first gear to start, second gear to speed up, third gear to overtake...

Driving for one or two hundred kilometers should be enough.

Yesterday, I went for maintenance, and they usually use 5W-30 oil. But this time, the technician used 5W-40 oil. I'm not sure if this will have any impact.

Today, the maintenance technician suggested switching to Shell's Yellow Bottle motor oil, mentioning that Castrol's oil with cleaning features might cause more oil leaks. Has anyone used lower-quality oil before? Is it usable?

For a 12-year-old car that has already run 190,000 kilometers and is experiencing a lack of power when starting, it's generally recommended to use a high-mileage engine oil. High-mileage oils are specially formulated to help reduce oil consumption, minimize leaks and oil seepage, and reduce smoke and emissions in older engines. They also contain additives that help condition seals and protect worn engine parts. You might want to consider a 10W-40 or a 5W-30 high-mileage oil, depending on your climate and specific engine requirements. Always refer to your vehicle's manual or consult with a professional mechanic for the best advice tailored to your car's condition and needs.

I just bought a second-hand car and after driving it for less than 1000 kilometers, it consumed 2.5 liters of engine oil (it's a 5-cylinder car registered in 2014). I'm not sure if any of you experience this oil consumption. Should I switch the engine oil from Shell 0W-40? What should I do, any advice for a budget-friendly solution?

I've been driving a 2009 Kia Sportage manual GLS with 120,000 km on it. I've always used 5W-30 engine oil, but recently it seems to be burning oil a bit. Should I switch to 5W-40 oil for maintenance? Has anyone experienced this before and can share some insights?

Does anyone know why the same system has been upgraded to wireless CarPlay abroad, but not in China? It seems similar to the EM90 system, but the EM90 can read USB drives directly. Why can't this smaller car do that? 🤔
