Hi everyone, I need some advice. I have a 2011 Volvo S40, and after parking, when I shift from D to P, I can't remove the key. I have to restart the engine, reverse, then go forward, and try parking again. Sometimes it takes several tries before I can remove the key. Is this a transmission issue or something else?

There is a Hall sensor under the gear lever, and it's the one that malfunctioned. It detects the gear position, which means sometimes it can't detect if the gear lever is in the "P" position.

I have the same issue. Did you manage to resolve yours? How did you fix it? Mine isn't working manually either! [Facepalm]

Check the dust cover below the gear lever.

Transmission and louvers need to be checked using a computer.

The gear didn't shift over.
