The remote key is locked! The car doesn't lock! What's the issue?

My car's alarm goes off for no reason when it's parked, and after the alarm goes off, I can't lock the doors with the remote key.

I disassembled the Peugeot 301 key and moved the chip to a new case, with the metal key separate. Now, the remote can unlock the door, but the metal key won't start the car. Could it be the key issue that's causing the car not to start?
