It seems like your 2011 Phaeton is experiencing some issues with the remote unlocking and the keyless start system. Sometimes you have to use the mechanical key to lock and unlock the car, and the keyless start doesn't work. Occasionally, after using the mechanical key to start and then turning off the engine, the remote unlocking and keyless start work fine again. What could be the problem?

I had a similar issue with the same car model. Replaced the auxiliary battery, and the problem was solved immediately! The technician explained that the battery was old and couldn't supply enough current.
