Is Volkswagen Beetle maintenance expensive and difficult? Do people complain about it?

I know people who own the Beetle, and they complain that the dealership is expensive. When they look for spare parts outside, they struggle to find them, and it takes time for them to arrive.

Honestly, maintaining the Beetle isn’t as easy as Japanese or Korean cars. Spare parts are expensive and not easily available, especially since the car isn’t very common in Egypt.
