But after driving for a few minutes or waiting at a few traffic lights, it starts to lose power. When I release the brake, it moves very slowly, and it only gets a bit better if I press the accelerator. It's a 2007 model with an automatic transmission.

If you leave the key in the ignition for too long without starting the car, it won't start. If the key is in the ignition for more than half a minute without turning the engine on, the key becomes stuck and you have to turn off the power and try starting the car again.
