I have a 2016 automatic model, and when driving on good roads, I hear a clear "clanging" sound from the right front tire area. Could this indicate a problem with the shock absorber? I just bought this second-hand car, looking for advice.

I have the same model, mine is a 2014. Try kicking the front wheel, do you hear a crisp banging sound? Mine had this issue because the brake discs and pads were worn out. After replacing both front brake discs and pads, it was fixed. Damn, the mechanic ripped me off, it cost me over 900. Damn it.

It should be the steering gear. I've already replaced two.

The ball joint is damaged, it only costs 60 bucks to replace it.

The rubber pad with a ball joint is broken. It's a minor issue, and it can be fixed at the 4S dealership in no time.

Check the different ball joints, such as the tie rod end, control arm ball joint, or sway bar link.

It's probably the steering gear that's broken.

Same here, mine makes noise on the left side. I also took out the shock absorber to check, and there was no problem.
