Hi everyone, I need some advice. I bought a second-hand 2017 F150 XLT model, not sure from which country. Here's the issue: No matter what the setting is, when I shift gears, the low beam lights turn on. If I turn off all the lights, the daytime running lights don't come on, but when I shift gears, the low beam lights turn on. When the automatic headlight setting is on, the daytime running lights come on, and in park mode, the low beam lights don't turn on, but after shifting gears, they do. I'm wondering what could be causing this and if there's a solution?

All XLT models are Canadian versions. The lights that come on when you shift gears are part of the daytime running lights, which are mandatory in other countries. So there's no need to worry, and they can't be changed.

This is set by a foreign system.

It doesn't affect the use, so why bother? Besides, it also serves as a warning for safety reasons.

Your Ford F-150 XLT is likely a US-spec model. In US-spec vehicles, the high and low beams are separate, and having the low beams on when shifting gears is designed that way from the factory. If you want to change it, you can go to a professional repair shop; it’s not difficult. I'm not sure about vehicles from other Ford production plants, but I've seen a few F-150s from Sohar that are like this.
