Second, regarding major redesign timelines, it feels like the Defender gets a major redesign every 10 years or so, while the Land Cruiser might see changes within 10 years. Third, for maintenance and repair costs, the Land Cruiser is cheaper. Fourth, fuel consumption is similar for both. Fifth, in terms of looks, those under 35 tend to prefer the Defender, while those above 35 prefer the Land Cruiser. Sixth, both are suitable for family, city driving, and off-road use.

If you're in Xinjiang, Tibet, or Qinghai, you'd still choose the Land Cruiser.

Honestly, the Defender isn't quite suited for rough conditions. Its high level of electronics can't guarantee durability in some off-road or expedition scenarios. If your main usage is in urban areas or for highway road trips, the Defender is stylish and good. However, when it comes to long-distance expeditions or off-road capabilities in the wild, for the sake of stability, the Land Cruiser is a better choice.
