My car is a 3.0T manual, and when accelerating to a certain speed, it suddenly feels like it's slowing down. Can any expert explain why this might be happening?

I'm looking to buy a low-roof diesel 4WD car without side sliding doors and with an automatic transmission.

Diesel vehicles require gradual acceleration to fully unleash the engine's power.

Diesel vehicles have high torque, but as speed increases, torque decreases. This is a physical characteristic. Diesel cars generally have a top speed limit of around 130 km/h.

I see you're driving a manual diesel. If you haven't driven a diesel before, the feeling of deceleration might be due to improper handling. Accelerating and shifting gears in a diesel car is different from a gasoline car. In a gasoline car, you can accelerate quickly by pressing hard on the gas pedal, quickly increasing the RPM, and the speed follows. Shifting at four to five thousand RPM is normal. For the Iveco diesel engine, you should gently press the gas pedal and keep the RPM around 2000 for the best power. If you floor the pedal and the RPM goes beyond 3000, it will start to lose power, giving you the sensation of accelerating first and then decelerating.

Who are these people in the comments? Talking about spark plugs and ignition coils for a diesel car. Let's not even mention that diesel cars never needed carburetors. Diesel engines use high-pressure fuel pumps, which you don't find in gasoline cars. Even for gasoline cars, carburetors are outdated technology.

When you start your car, does the idle speed go up to 1200 RPM, then when you shift into gear and move forward, does it suddenly decelerate?

Is it normal for a 2015 model 2.0L automatic transmission car to have the RPM around 1300 at 60-70 km/h, and when slowing down for a turn then accelerating again, the RPM suddenly rises and acceleration is slow, with the RPM at 1600 to 1700 at 60 km/h and not dropping, and sometimes after turning off the engine and restarting it behaves normally?

Peugeot 206, 1.6L, automatic/manual transmission, 2006 model. The acceleration is very slow, and when you give it more gas, the RPM goes up, but the speed doesn't catch up. What's going on? Can any experts help explain this? Thanks!

The gear shifting feels jerky. When going downhill, just a tap on the brake slows it down to the minimum speed. The fuel consumption is too high, basically 11 liters in the city.

I've been driving a 2015 ASX and need some advice. The car starts just fine, but once I pick up speed and then suddenly brake to slow down, when I press the accelerator again, it feels like there's no response at first. There's a sudden jerk before it accelerates, making the driving experience really bad. Could it be time to change the transmission fluid? It's been 7 years and 45,000 kilometers, and I haven't changed the transmission fluid yet.

Driving over speed bumps at 60 km/h can indeed have an impact on your car. It might cause stress to the suspension system, tires, and potentially the alignment. It's always best to slow down for speed bumps to avoid any potential damage.
